Domaine de la Pigeade
Rhône Valley, France
The Estate
Nestled in the heart of Provence and the Rhône Valley, Domaine de la Pigeade spans four prestigious appellations: Muscat de Beaumes de Venise, Beaumes de Venise Rouge, Vacqueyras, and Ventoux. In a magnificent green setting, our 16th century building now houses our winemaking and maturing cellars.
Today, accompanied by a young and motivated team, on a property of more than 30 hectars, we renew each year our commitment before our god Bacchus to produce quality wines, worthy of being served on your tables and then presented to your families and friends.
The Winemaker
Our story began in the early 1960s, when Nicole and Claude Vaute moved to the family property.
Both from farming families, they will nevertheless be the first generation of winegrowers. Having had the good idea to believe in the very young Muscat de Beaumes de Venise appellation, they have continued to develop and expand the Estate, while leaving the winemaking to the village cooperative. Strengthened by this goldsmith's work of cultivation and land consolidation, it is on a superb 10 ha property (mainly planted with Muscat) that their son Thierry and his wife Marina settle. Benefiting from such an asset, the latter decide to build their own cellar. Since 1996, winemakers Thierry and Marina have been crafting some of the region's most exceptional wines in all categories: white, red, and rosé.
“At the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail, a few kilometers from Mont Ventoux and the
Luberon, the domaines geographical position allows us to benefit from an exceptional microclimate,
conducive to the production of the best wines.”
